How to Handle Mushroom Spore Syringes Safely

microscopic mushroom spores

Because they produce no harmful effects and they cannot be used for achieving altered states of consciousness, you can oftentimes legally transfer microscopic mushroom spores freely across state borders. Check with local legislation to ensure this is true in the area you live. However, what’s safe for us is not necessarily safe for the mushroom spores themselves, so if you don’t want them to be damaged, you have to follow a few important tips on how to handle them:

  1. Safe storage is very important. When you receive the mushroom spores, they will already be inside a syringe, and to store them safely, you have to put them in the refrigerator and keep the syringes at a temperature of around 2 to 4 degrees.
  2. Mushroom spores can be sent separately, so you can use them with sterile water to create your own mushroom spore syringes. In such cases, when you draw up the microscopic mushroom spores solution, cap the needle and leave the solution as it is for up to 24 hours. Using it right away is not safe because the spores need time to hydrate.
  3. Before using the syringe always shake it for a few seconds. That will ensure the substance with the spores will be homogeneous, so that the substrate can be injected properly with mushroom spores and new mushroom cultures can grow evenly.
